PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Background & Expertise

August 2014 - Present
LECTURER
Lecturer AY in the Department of Recreation, Park & Tourism Administration. Successfully transitioned to complete online teaching environment format (synchronous) for the Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 Semesters. Customized and redesigned the RPTA-122 syllabus to align with current events, with research on various social issues such as feminism, LGBTQ, and race as they relate to leisure.

June 2019 - November 2020
CITY COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVE
I provided constituent services throughout Council District 2 of the City of Sacramento. Responsibilities included drafting and finalizing City Council Resolutions and various letters to the community and other elected officials; Significant interaction between various Council Offices, City Staff, and others regarding multiple issues; and outreach to residents of City Council District 2.

What I Do

RESEARCH
Extensive experience in the field of research ranging from topics in higher education to public policy. Specific topics in Higher Education include leisure and recreation, social issues, feminism, LBGTQ, and race.

TEACHING
Six years of experience instructing students in higher education, both in-person and online.
CURRICULUM DESIGN
Expansive knowledge of curriculum design in higher education, adopting textbooks and outside materials to help students meet course goals and objectives.

EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY
Experience with educational technology in the higher education setting including, but not limited to, Canvas, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Office 365, and Discord.


PROFESSIONAL WRITING
Experience writing professional documents including emails to staff, constituents, and elected officials. Other materials include press releases and City Council Resolutions.
